We are seeking a Business Data Analyst to join our team in our team in Lake Zurich, IL. This individual will have an opportunity to be part of an organization that is undergoing transformation to achieve best in class status in its operations.  This is an exciting lead role, as it will interact with all levels of the organization working across the matrix on various projects that are highly visible, and will have the opportunity to act as the lead analyst in the department. This position reports in to the Manager of Global Analytics.


The person will impact overall profitability through the development of new business processes that will serve to improve and optimize ACCO Brands business strategy, customer service levels, inventory investment, capital investment, and sales.  This includes inbound and outbound transportation, distribution operations, replenishment and overall supply chain integration with vendors and customers, sales and margin analysis, sourcing strategic total lowest cost analysis, and pricing analysis. 


Key Responsibilities 

Information Collection

  • Collect, reconcile, analyze, and organize business data sets and provide insight into results.
  • Assign numerical values to business performance.

Data Extrapolation and Results Interpretation

  • Prepare written summaries to accompany results, trending charts, etc.
  • Clearly explain what the data indicates and how it can be utilized to effect business performance.
  • Identify performance efficiencies, root cause impact, and opportunities for improvement.

Projections and Advisory Responsibilities

  • Formulate projections and forecasts relative to data trending.
  • Advise impact of data results and correspondingly recommend how the data points can be changed or improved over time (Specific cause and effect impact).
  • Provide organization with ongoing conclusions on data analysis and advise on actionable solutions that can be deployed to improve future performance.


  • Perform fact-based, data driven analysis, data crunching, and modeling on significant amounts of data across all supply chain functions for purposes of turning it into actionable information.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for Global Supply Chain.
  • Communicate with various teams to ensure projects and reports are on track.
  • Manage suites of daily/weekly/monthly reporting for global teams and higher management.

Position Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Business, Finance, Supply Chain/Logistics, or Information Technology required
  • 2-4 years of experience of demonstrated problem analysis and problem-solving skills in several of the following disciplines:  financial analysis, data modeling, statistical research, forecasting, data mining, database analysis, or strategic planning
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to lead and drive projects
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of SQL Server preferred
  • Knowledge of Financial Planning and Analysis preferred  
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain operations a plus
  • CPIM Distinction/Certification a plus
