Position Summary

ACCO Brands, one of the world's largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion, is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst for our Finance department in the corporate headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL. This position is responsible for mastering a complex array of customer and product variables related to customer purchasing incentives for use in accruals, payments, reporting, analysis and reconciliation. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

The role of Senior Finance Analyst in our Customer Programs group encompasses planning, reporting and analytics related to the variable and fixed incentives that ACCO North America provides to customers to support consumer promotional activities, growth initiatives, and pricing adjustments.  This role will also collaborate with Sales, Contract Mgmt, Decision Support and Legal to develop and finalize customer agreements and manage the expense, balance sheet and payment processes to accurately meet our obligations to our customers.  The individual in this role will be the expert for specified customers regarding all aspects of the customers’ discounts, allowances and programs, and will actively work with representatives at those customers and the Sales teams to quickly resolve program disputes and issues.  Finally, the Senior Financial Analyst will be intimately involved in the overall planning processes for the North American business, and will partner with North America Finance on budgets and outlooks as well as the monthly reporting and review processes.

 

Key expectations of this individual include:

  • Build the annual plans for Customer Programs and each of the interim forecasts based on Sales forecasts from the North America Finance team
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting of actual results versus forecasts and budget, highlighting variances, issues, opportunities and risks
  • Maintain the integrity of all the customer program elements upon which the customer incentives are calculated, accrued, settled and reported
  • Translate program elements by customer and product line into Oracle and SAP systems
  • Analyze accruals, sales and variances to plan/prior year to ensure all data has been appropriately recorded and all levels of detail are in place to ensure the calculation is complete and correct
  • Partner with the Sales and Finance teams monthly/quarterly to review customer program elements, identify adjustments needed, record and document sales promotional activity
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis as requested

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • At least five (5) years of relevant financial analysis work experience
  • Previous experience working within a B2B environment preferred
  • High energy

  • Strong analytical acumen

  • Skilled in Microsoft products, including Excel and Word
  • Experience with ORACLE or SAP preferred
