Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician to join our team on first shift.  The Quality Technician will be responsible for testing, inspecting and repairing lamination equipment prior to release for sale.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carefully and correctly inspect equipment on a timely basis. This includes new machines as well as those that have been returned from the customer.
  • Unpacking and/or uncrating the model to be inspected
  • Performing a visual inspection for proper fit and finish, missing parts, and confirmation that all updates have been installed.
  • Using a checklist to confirm that each model meets the given engineering and marketing specs for all of the following subgroups: electrical, mechanical, functionality and safety.
  • Operating the piece of equipment. (Some assembly and disassembly of the model is required before this action can be completed.)
  • Re-packing or crating of the model.
  • Transfer of inspected inventory to the warehouse storing the finished goods.
  • Physically moving product by use of forklift and other heavy equipment.
  • Kowledge of all models that are inspected in the Distribution Center.
  • Become trained on larger and/or more complicated equipment as it becomes available.
  • Refurbishing of returned equipment.
  • Data collection and logging as required by Quality Organization and/or Manager.
  • Order parts as needed.
  • Meet deadlines given by supervisor and inform supervisor when deadlines cannot be met.
  • All other duties as needed or assigned by Supervisor.

Position Qualifications

  • Experience working with equipment manufacturing and re-manufacturing.
  • High level of technical knowledge.
  • Prior experience related to lamination processes and equipment is preferred
  • Experience working with design engineering and field technical service helpful.
  • Must be capable of handling large equipment.
  • Must be able to skillfully read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to communicate ideas and suggestions effectively.
  • Must have basic math skills for calculations.
  • Must have strong reasoning skills.
  • Must be able to solve problems and draw conclusions based on a variety of information.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude with strong experience working in repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Be able to move heavy machinery. Some lifting, bending, and stooping required for complete equipment inspection.
