Product & Brand Marketing / Communication Intern will work collaboratively, creatively and flexibly within our Global Development & Innovation Group.  This group is charged to create market-leading solutions for business challenges.  You will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the team’s growth objectives and support day-to-day marketing activities such as market analysis, brand/value proposition development, brand communication and interdisciplinary team collaboration.


Do you major in business, marketing, strategy, or communications?  Then this may be the perfect internship for you!  The ideal candidate will be available full time during the Summer 2018 and has strong communication skills, is detail oriented and has the ability to think broadly.  Being an intern on our team means bringing your talent and personality to the table when brainstorming and iterating with a group of people with different backgrounds such as industrial designers, mechanical engineers and marketing professionals.


The position responsibilities include:

  • Support critical day to day business activities of marketing managers including financial analysis, promotional planning, collateral development and brand development.
  • Develop and manage aspects of marketing campaigns including printed materials, web content, promotional programs and customer collateral
  • Perform competitive analysis including pricing, product positioning, specifications and go to market activities.
  • Help define compelling value propositions.
  • Assist in developing project plans, create marketing specifications and create project briefs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather information, apply feedback, provide updates, and gain consensus on new product and technology opportunities
  • Assist in managing ACCO Brands open innovation web portal, reviewing idea submissions and updating content.


Position Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Strategic mindset
  • Ability to work semi-autonomously and learn quickly in an ambiguous and dynamic small team environment
  • Creative writing and communication skills
  • Computer Skills (proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Hands-on, attention to detail and problem resolution skills.
  • Team player and collaborator
  • Prioritization and time management skills required.

Additional skills that are encouraged:

  • A knack for creative writing and advertising.
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus, especially Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Muse, Adobe Experience Design.
  • Ability to create web, app or video content.
