ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world's largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion, is seeking a Machine and Tool Technician. This position supports all tooling, fabrication, preventative maintenance and problem solving needs for all production departments and has responsibility for continuous equipment performance, maintenance and approved machine and tool improvement efforts. The essential functions of this position include the following duties:
- Responsible for daily equipment performance and process efficiencies.
- Coordinate with supervisor and outside contractors to implement approved factory projects on time and to budget.
- Repair and make replacement parts for production tools and equipment, often times without available prints.
- Troubleshoot and assist in defining equipment improvement opportunities and present to engineering management.
- Responsible for detailed equipment modifications involving controls as well as mechanical components.
- Design, build and maintain approved jig's, fixtures, gauges and tools needed for production.
- Work closely with all levels, including operators, engineering, vendors, planners, etc.
- Understand Lean Manufacturing concepts and root cause analysis; apply them to all factory efforts.
- Implement/initiate continuous process improvement.
- In addition to machining, also responsible for trouble-shooting & repairs as needed.
