ACCO Brands is seeking a Contracts Manager - Licensed Products at the Kettering, Ohio office. The Contracts Manager is a key position in the support of the Licensing department’s initiatives as it manages the daily activities for negotiating, finalizing and executing all licensing contracts. This includes all internal and external communication necessary to support the contract and the development of licensed products. This role is also responsible for executing all contract administration tasks and reporting to minimize the company’s legal and financial liability related to contract compliance.



  • Manage all aspects of contract negotiation, maintenance and compliance with the support from the licensing team and various cross functional teams such as Finance, Legal and Compliance.
  • Manage the review and negotiation process for all external licensing agreements to provide for maximum benefit in payment and compliance terms and limit contractual legal liability.
  • Direct the initiation of internal boiler plate contracts and negotiate all Licensor comments.
  • Communicate appropriate contract terms to marketing, sales, legal and other internal departments as needed.
  • Work closely with Finance and Royalty Analysts to ensure all royalty statements are compliant with the requirements of the contract and all other required internal and external financial reporting is consistent, accurate and timely.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all licensing contracts. This includes supporting third party manufacturing forms, securing necessary insurance certificates and adhering to all end of contract requirements from the Licensor.
  • Responsible for all tools and processes associated with the contracts management function within the licensing department.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field. Contract Management experience is preferred.
  • Clear understanding of contract law as it relates to various licensing categories (i.e., entertainment, sports, art, etc.)
  • Understanding of the licensed products business model (licensing contracts, submissions and approvals, production, royalty processing and inventory management)
  • Excellent negotiation skills are required
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple areas of responsibility and tasks concurrently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required with all levels of internal and external customers
  • High detail orientation to ensure contractual compliance
  • Microsoft Office skills are a necessity
