    ACCO Brands’ eCommerce Marketing team is looking for a Direct Marketing Specialist to develop and launch dynamic digital marketing programs. The ideal candidate will be a creative and analytical self-starter, with experience in ecommerce, email marketing, lead generation, digital analytics, and content development.


    The Digital Marketing Specialist will work as part of the overall ACCO Brands Marketing organization, leveraging the resources and strategy of the organization’s multi-channel marketing efforts to deliver growth in ACCO’s direct sales. There is a significant opportunity for this role to grow in numerous internal directions, as ACCO continues to grow its digital presence across North America and worldwide.


    Position can be based in ACCO’s Lake Zurich, IL or Kettering, OH office. Opportunities to work from downtown Chicago WeWork location is possible for the right candidate.


    Job Responsibilities

    • Manage email campaigns in alignment with ecommerce best practices– including audience segmentation, email design and delivery, creating of landing pages, and reports.
    • Create customized multichannel marketing campaigns (search, email, social) which continue to drive growth for the company.
    • Write brand appropriate content across multiple mediums that heightens engagement with target consumers and business while reinforcing brand positioning.
    • Send email campaigns to client and prospect lists via ACCO’s platforms, including IBM/Silverpop.
    • Create and maintain a calendar of digital marketing initiatives.
    • Plan and launch high-converting landing pages with lead capture/sales conversion (design and UX skills a plus, here).
    • Complement digital strategies by executing offline campaign components including direct mail.
    • Proactively grow CRM and marketing target contacts.
    • Leverage internal analytics and reporting tools, including Microsoft PowerBI, Google Analytics, and others to provide reporting and data-driven decision making.
    • Build a program of continuous test/learn/optimize for all elements.
    • Manage campaigns holistically, with an understanding of all aspects of the marketing cycle, from awareness through conversion to renewal/re-engagement.
    • Able to become the subject matter expert inside the organization for one or more key digital marketing disciplines (i.e., email, SEO, website analytics, landing page optimization, etc.).

    Position Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience. 
    • Certification in marketing automation, email, analytics, and content management systems a plus

    Years of Relevant Experience

    • 2+ years of digital marketing experience 
    • 1+ years of ecommerce and/or lead generation experience

    Skills & Knowledge

    • Proven email marketing and technical experience 
    • Solid understanding of contemporary SEO practices
    • Understanding of digital marketing KPIs (CTR, ROAS, CR, etc.) 
    • Experience working with business owners in defining reporting requirements 
    • Superior writing and editing skills – the ability to cut through the clutter 
    • Strong verbal communication skills 
    • Problem-solving skills 
    • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – able to modify/update existing creative templates
