    Our Alexandria, Pennsylvania plant is seeking to fill a Safety Coordinator position. 


    Position Qualifications

    Position Summary:  Responsible to assist the Safety Manager in implementing safety and environmental programs to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment


    Position Accountabilities:

    • Collects data and maintains recordkeeping for safety and environmental files and records/reports
    • Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries
    • Participates in and/or coordinates safety committees and safety events/activities
    • Participates in all internal and external safety/environmental audits (ie, CESMP, OSHA)
    • Participates as facilitator for required meetings and training sessions
    • Participates in overseeing the appropriate PPE for all activities and areas of the facility
    • Supports and assists in coordination of the Active Release Treatment (ART) program
    • Supports and assists in the self-help stretching program
    • Recommends ideas for improvement to Manager and/or Management Team
    • Assists with and/or coordinates the Industrial Hygiene Monitoring/Testing program as needed
    • Supports and assists in coordinating all internal audits (ie, guarding, monthly CESMP, PIT, etc.)
    • Encourages all employees to participate in safety activities (ie, programs, audits, committees)
    • Leads in safety by example in daily duties and responsibilities
    • Educates and coaches management, supervisors and all employees to ensure compliance in all areas of EHS
    • Supports and complies with all organizational policies.  Provides feedback and input as needed
    • Assists in recognizing and eliminating hazards throughout the facility
    • Ensures regulatory compliance in all areas
    • Collects and evaluates information on identified EHS issues and works with appropriate departments/personnel to propose/develop recommendations for improvement, including evaluation and design of engineering controls, and implementation of exposure and reduction solutions
    • Assists in orienting new hires (full time and temporary) in all required aspects of EHS
    • Completion of all assigned projects


    Position Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health or similar discipline; up to 2 years of related EHS experience with 3-5 preferred
    • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices
    • Ability to effectively manage and delegate while maintaining forward motion on key results and deliverables
    • Proven team player with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; energetic and self-motivated
    • Ability to mentor, train and coach colleagues
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office – intermediate level in Excel and Word; ability to learn and use internal systems (ie, Lockout Pro, MSDS Online, SAP)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Willing to grow with the organization
    • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to every changing environment
    • Desire and ability to move into the Safety Manager position
