    ACCO Brands Corporation is seeking a Global Reporting BI Analyst to join our IT team in Lake Zurich, IL. The Global Reporting BI Analyst has the responsibility of assisting senior staff in the evaluation, development, implementation and analytical aspects data evaluation supporting the company's business strategy.  The primary areas of responsibility will be supporting the data integrity, workflow monitoring and quality roles of the team through dynamic data visualizations and reporting. This is an exciting opportunity to support the data driven decisions across Global business. The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge in SQL, auditing compliance initiatives, report writing, and QA. The ideal candidate would have a mathematical and statistical background to support data intensive projects.


    Responsibilities Include:


    Business Partnership

    • Work closely with the business management and teams to develop measurable performance targets for the business unit with a specific responsibility to establish facts to enable informed decision making.
    • Interact with business to gather requirements, prioritize work, develop enhancements to the existing system, coordinate testing, and perform change management/training for BW/BI reporting and applications.
    • Design BI solutions, translating complex requirements into an optimal BI design.
    • Work closely with compliance, marketing and the supply chain to ensure that reporting is in line with the company's objectives and projects are on track.


    • Assist with the review, consolidation and reduction of data discrepancies and define data processing rules.
    • Diagnose data quality issues and design processes to minimize data quality risks and proactively identify potential data issues.
    • Assess system impacts for upcoming changes & conduct functional training
    • Improve monitoring and discovery of issues prior to code reaching production.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation for various systems, services and business processes including databases and reporting procedures.
    • Monitor, measure and maintain KPIs for Global Reporting team.
    • Develop, document and maintain test specifications, test case requirements, artifacts including test data, data validation and automated scripts.
    • Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions.


    • Manage suites of daily/weekly/monthly reporting for global teams and higher management.
    • Partner with Finance and IT team to develop and execute all aspects of a data conversion plan for the business including data identification, analysis and clean up, conversion, and monitoring query and analyze unstructured data from multiple relational databases in order to Interpret data and analyze results.

    Data management

    • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases and data systems.
    • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
    • Develop, modify, maintain and support custom reports (MS SQL, SSRS, Crystal) for both ad-hoc and ongoing needs.
    • Design data structures to optimize data load times and end-user data access response times.
    • Monitor BI loads, communicate and troubleshoot issues with data integrity, data design, and functional and technical software issues.
    • Lead several projects regarding auditing, creation of global reporting, and management of the Global Data Warehouse.
    • Clear understanding of data warehousing, data mining, data modeling that optimize efficiency and data quality.
    • Work closely with upstream data vendors on support and maintenance issues.


    Position Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s degree or work equivalent in Engineering, computer science, technology, business analysis or Data Governance field is required.
    • 1-3 years of experience working with data analytics, data warehousing and data modeling.
    • Travel required up to 25%.
    • Knowledge of ECC extractors: SD, FI/CO, COPA PP. MM. QM, WM, TM, is a plus.
    • Experience with dashboards development a plus.
    • Experience with database architecture, design, and modeling.
    • Experience with MS SQL Server 2014/2016.
    • Strong conceptual thinking skills, creativity and flexibility.
    • Strong analytical, attention to detail, organizational and core project management skills.
    • Strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to independently lead projects from start to completion.
    • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
    • Proven working experience as a data/reporting analyst.
    • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
    • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting services (SSRS, Crystal Reports), databases (i.e. SQL), programming (ETL frameworks).
